Game of Thrones is a complicated show, with a lot of characters, with intertwining storylines, Now, the thing is that since the show has so many of them, the timelines of different events happening with different characters, there has been a difficulty in syncing up the pace of all the storylines.

It has been more noticeable lately, with the end of Season 6 leaving the fans talking about how Varys went from being in Dorne to being with Daenerys Targaryen on her ship to Dragonstone.
