Even though we’ve got to wait until next April at least before we can get a glimpse of it, the hype around the final ever series of Game of Thrones is building nicely.  There have been announcements of GoT weddings – Kit Harington and Rose Leslie – as well as sightings of former cast members (Jason Momoa aka Khal Drogo) and, of course, literally thousands of insane fan theories.  Well, if you’ll indulge one more, Sophie Turner – otherwise known as Sansa Stark – recently got a new tattoo that could have a hidden meaning behind it.  Whilst in Australia to visit her fiancé Joe Jonas, the pair decided to go and get inked together. Whilst Jonas went for images of Mario, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Freddie Mercury, Turner went for something a bit more interesting.  She got the direwolf head sigil of her GoT house, Stark, along with the text ‘the pack survives’.Credit: Instagram/@laurenwinzer  This is a reference to a line from her on-screen father, Ned Stark.  Back in the very first book of the series, he said to Sansa’s sister Arya: “In the winter, we must protect ourselves – look after one another. Sansa is your sister.  “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.”  Sure, it could just be some wise words, but could this also be a hint that the Stark kids eventually manage to survive to the end of the show? OK, that’s a pretty huge leap. It could be just a nice reminder of her time working with her friends on the show.  If you’re feeling pretty glum about the show coming to an end, fear not, because there will be a whole load of spin-off shows made to keep you going after the main show ends.  The first one up will be set thousands of years before the original series and could be based on the book Age of Heroes.  The logline for the new show reads: “Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.  “And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend…it’s not the story we think we know.”George R.R. Martin.
