Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has announced new relaxations in the epass system from the 17th August 2020.
According to a statement issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Government of Tamil Nadu is working diligently to protect the public from coronavirus infections, prevent them from contracting the disease, treat them and provide relief. The course of the epidemic is being monitored and gradual relaxations are being made, taking into account the cooperation of the general public and the status of the epidemic.
To prevent the spread of the disease, e-pass applications are being allowed to be applied for inter-district use only for the reasons of marriage, emergency medical care, death of a close relative, commuting for work, going abroad, or returning home. Through this, those who leave the district are monitored and the work of identifying and isolating those associated with them in case of infection is carried out.
In this situation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister have ordered e-pass permission for the public to travel across Tamil Nadu (between districts) without any hindrance for important tasks (from districts) from 17.8.2020 with Aadhar or Ration card details with telephone / mobile number.
This decision has been taken in the interest of the public. Chief Minister further says “I urge the public to follow the government’s standard guidelines for controlling the spread of corona disease and to co-operate with the government’s actions,”.
