There has been a constant hike in the price of Diesel for the past 19 days. Now, as of June 25, petrol is being sold at ₹79.92/l and diesel at ₹80.02/l in New Delhi. This has garnered reactions from the aam janta who have been tweeting about the same. Also, Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri etc who opened up on rocketing fuel prices a few years ago are being trolled by the netizens. People all over social media platforms are questioning their silence this time.

These tweets posed a question on the-then UPA government over sky-rocketing fuel prices. These stars have taken a dig at the government for an uncontrolled hike in fuel prices. Now, as they are silent amid the uproar on Twitter over the hiked prices of diesel, netizens are questioning them.

On Akshay’s tweet, TV actress Kavita Kaushik said that it was in the past when we used to speak according to our choice. Now we have lost everything- voice, logic and the power to fight for the good of others.

Meanwhile, the opposition is planning agitations and protests in various ways, about the rising prices of petrol and diesel. The Congress has asked its state units to hold dharna across the country on June 29. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal told the media that in view of the Coronavirus crisis, agitation will be carried out following the guidelines by Health Ministry. On June 25, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took a cycle tour in Bihar. Other parties have also criticized the government over the price hike.
