Kangana Ranaut Slams Bollywood Mafia Again As Vidyut’s Film Was Snubbed By OTT Platform

This year has been a tough one, especially for Bollywood. It all started with all shootings of films halted and theatres shut down as precautionary measures to curb the spread of coronavirus. Later, we lost two of our most celebrated actors to cancer- Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor.

The industry hadn’t revived itself from the loss and then beloved actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise due to suicide shook its very core. Soon, people started claiming that Sushant was being a victim of nepotism, that erupted the whole ‘insider vs outsider’ debate.

Now, films of actors Vidyut Jammwal & Kunal Kemmu were snubbed by the very OTT platform they are releasing on. This is the actual proof as to how outsiders are treated in the industry.

Actress Kangana Ranaut was quick to come in support and pointed out that ill-treatment of outsiders continues. She tweeted, “Such a shame that ill-treatment of outsiders continues even in territories where everyone is new and an outsider.”

It all started when a virtual press conference was put out to formally announce the release of seven big-ticket films scheduled for release on the app. Kunal’s film Lootcase and Vidyut’s film Khuda Hafiz are amongst the seven films acquired by the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar for a digital release. Sadly, these two were the only films that did not have representation during the event held.

This incident of promoting films of certain stars only goes onto show the prevalence of favoritism and unfairness in the Hindi film industry, which is deemed as a shame by the audiences.
