Trump Misspelled ‘Global Warming’ In Early Morning Tweet

As the Midwest braced for the most dangerous blast of Arctic weather in recent memory, President Donald Trump leaped at the opportunity to push his “global warming is a hoax” agenda on Twitter.

In a tweet posted early Monday morning, the septuagenarian quipped that we “need global warming” to prevent the extreme cold weather front from settling on the country. (According to Weather.com, dangerously cold wind chills caused by a displaced polar vortex are expected to drop temperatures in the Midwest near negative 30F, and the wind chill could fall as low as negative 50F or 60F — the lowest in over two decades.)

“In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest ever recorded. In coming days, expected to get even colder. People can’t last outside even for minutes. What the hell is going on with Global Waming? Please come back fast, we need you!,” Trump tweeted, misspelling “Global Warming.”

Besides revealing his ignorance for the fact that weather and climate change are two completely different things, Trump’s social media jeering is also a slap in the face to parts of the world devastated by extreme heat. Australia just experienced five of its ten hottest days on record, causing sixteen hospitalizations and bats—yes bats!—to collapse out of trees and koalas to camp out by rivers.

This is because the extreme cold approaching the Midwest U.S., and the record-breaking heat afflicting Australia are both symptoms of global warming. The rapidness with which Earth’s climate is changing causes extreme weather events and, as CNN has noted in the past, it is utterly unscientific to connect temperatures in certain locations with global warming.

Twitter exploded in response to Trump’s tweet, with many mocking the president for his willful misunderstanding of the differences between climate and weather.

Others focused on the depressing notion that the POTUS just tweeted out the words ‘Global Waming.’
