Westworld just killed an important Game Of Thrones character

This article contains spoilers for the second episode of Westworld Season 3.

Drogon, the biggest of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons on “Game of Thrones,” survived the end of Game Of Thrones and he made sure he carried Daenerys‘ body away from Westeros, where she was betrayed by Jon Snow. So it’s a shocker that he now met his demise in a way no one would’ve expected, on HBO’s “Westworld.”

In the 2nd episode of “Westworld” season 3, which was titled “The Winter Line” we saw a cameo from “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and they were joined by Drogon as well.

In season 3 we see Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) as she leaves the massive theme park of Delos and infiltrates the human world. But some characters are nonetheless within the park. Around 39 minutes into the episode, Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) and Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth) are wandering across the lab a part of the park, trying to find Maeve (Thandie Newton). Bernard is shocked to see people still working in the lab, with human lab techs bustling round behind glass partitions, together with some robotic “hosts” and robotic animals.

“I thought the parks were shut down?” Bernard asks. “They are,” Stubbs explains. “These techs are just waiting to see if they get laid off.”

The camera then shifts focus to 2 lab techs behind a glass wall: Benioff, sitting in a chair, and Weiss, standing. They’re each carrying the gloves and aprons of a typical “Westworld” lab tech, and so they’re speaking about probably taking a new job. “… It’s a startup in Costa Rica,” says Weiss.

He then picks up a saw-like object, turns it on whereas muttering about “chopping it up,” and walks in the direction of Drogon, who’s in the room with them, implying that Drogon is a robot.

After surviving all of the wars and bloodshed of “Game of Thrones,” and after melting the Iron Throne Drogon gets “chopped up” by creator Weiss on “Westworld.” Watch the video below:

Whether or not you agree, it’s correct to say that they’re amongst the most  hated creators on Earth. They backed out of a Comic Con after getting heavily criticized by fans for the way the final season of Game Of Thrones was handled. The Season eight finale, aired in May 2019. A fan petition to remake the panned season with “competent writers” garnered almost 2 million signatures. At one moment, they even topped the Google search outcome for “bad writers.”

Fans still haven’t forgotten the final season and we don’t know if it was smart to include them in a Game Of Thrones special on Westworld, in which they chop off a fan favourite. Many fans have compared the scene with the showrunners butchering the ending of Game Of Thrones and it’s hard to disagree with fans on this issue.

Benioff and Weiss are currently working with Netflix as a part of a $200 million deal, after exiting the “Star Wars” movies they were supposed to work on. “Westworld” is presently airing Sundays at 9 p.m.
